New Immigration Parole Fees

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published a Federal Register notice implementing a new immigration parole fee. The fee is $1,000 for FY 2025 and subject to adjustment for inflation. Individuals paroled into the U.S. must pay the fee unless they qualify for an exception. The new parole fee doesn’t apply to individuals with a pending I-485 Adjustment of Status application. Individuals with pending I-485 applications should keep proof of approval on hand while traveling.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will collect the immigration parole fees from individuals already in the U.S. Beginning on Oct. 16, 2025. Individuals requesting parole or re-parole won’t qualify until they’ve paid the immigration parole fee. USCIS will notify applicants if they haven’t paid the fee. The notice includes payment instructions and a deadline for submission. If the fee isn’t paid within the specified period, USCIS won’t grant the applicant parole.

The immigration parole fee is one of many payment adjustments added via the One Big Beautify Bill Act and DHS policy changes. The Act implements payments for many formally free immigration services, along with multiple fee hikes.

Fees introduced to formally free applications:

  • Asylum
    • $100 initial application fee, along with an additional $100 required for each year the application remains pending.
  • Special Immigrant Juvenile Status

  • Employment Authorization Document (EAD) for pending asylum, parole, or TPS
    • $550 initial application fee.
    • $275 fee for subsequent renewals.
  • Waiver for a Ground of Inadmissibility
    • $1050 application fee.
