Increase of ICE Arrest Rates

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested ten thousand people over a five day time-span in late June, 2026. According to AP News, the rise arrest rates represent a major push from the agency. The tally works out to roughly two thousand arrests per day during that period.

The surge follows a change in the agency’s approach from high-profile sweeps in major American cities toward quieter methods of reaching its enforcement targets. Even with a lower public profile, the daily arrest count is above early 2026 levels. In January 2026, the daily average sat just over twelve hundred arrests. Late June’s pace is roughly 65% higher than the January baseline.
