A program allowing non-minister religious workers to immigrate to the U.S. will end on December 20, 2024. President Biden has extended the EB-4 visa program for these workers until that date. After December 20, 2024, this program will no longer be available. Note that ministers in religious roles will not be affected by this change.

Non-minister religious workers, along with their spouses and children, have until December 20, 2024, to explore other immigration options. Those eligible can request expedited review. However, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will decide whether to approve these requests on a case-by-case basis.

To request expedited review, a nonprofit organization must demonstrate that the worker supports important social or cultural interests in the U.S. If the organization is selected for a compliance review, the request for expedited processing cannot be processed until the review is finished. The request must clearly show why a specific person is needed for the organization, rather than just mentioning a general need for help. For example, the individual should have special skills essential for an important program.
